Places I Can Never Go: forgetting the fisher king represents a miniature, common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) sitting at a river’s edge. The jewel-toned landscape is framed by a cloud-filled arch. The title suggests the odd parallel the kingfisher family of birds has with the Arthurian Fisher King myth which takes place in a desolate (infertile) kingdom.
