This Was Eden? depicts a European hare (Lepus europaes) knelt amongst verdant foliage, including ribwort plantain (Plantago lanceolata), broadleaf plantain (Plantago major), wild violets (Viola sororia), ebony spleenwort (Asplenium platyneuron), and pennywort (Hydrocotyle umbellata). Despite all this attention to natural detail, the environment melts and blooms, grounded by a gilded, six-pointed star motif that the rabbit is bowing against (or unaware of entirely).
