Offertorio I features the form of a European hare (Lepus europaeus). The hare is accompanied by a citrine comet. Below her paw, a pool of water, and surrounding that pool many broad leaf plantains (Plantago major) bloom. The hare are is adorned with a gold disc and set on a pure black backdrop, in reference to Russian Orthodox icons.
